Hotel Review: Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa

Drive an hour north of Cairns International Airport and you find the Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa. It is located beachside at the southern end of 4 Mile Beach and is surrounded by world-famous attractions like the Great Barrier Reef, the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation.

With the beach just steps away and surrounding lush vegetation, you truly are in a tropical paradise. Soak up the sunshine and ambience of life in the tropics, without compromising on those little creature comforts you left behind at home.

With a shuttle taxi service that will take you into downtown Port Douglas and trips into the Daintree and Cape Tribulation doable in a day, this resort is the perfect base for exploring the region.

Typical with the Pullman brand, the Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa oozes sophisticated luxury. The first thing you will notice is the open airy design, something that is most welcomed in the hot tropics. After the days exploring the surrounding Great Barrier Reef, Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation and town of Port Douglas, this resort is the perfect place to come back to and relax and unwind.

Walking into the property you are met by the large, open foyer. This then leads out to the central lagoon pool, where the rooms surround with some ground level rooms even leading directly out to the pool. There is dining on site or you can order a bite to eat or drink around the pool or to your room.

If the tropical vibe is still not enough to relax you, escape to Vie Spa and leave feeling restored, revived and inspired. Treatments will have you taken away to a tranquil place, a place where your wellness is nurtured to harmonise with your inner self, a place where care is personalised, and life is celebrated.

The Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort and Spa has a large range of accommodation options, from spacious rooms and apartments to large private villas. This allows from solo travellers to large family groups with interconnecting rooms. The accommodation is situated around the lagoon pool, bathed in sunshine, offering a calm and secluded setting. Rooms include the comforts of home including WIFI internet, in-house movies, mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities or full kitchen facilities (depending on the room type). All rooms at Pullman Port Douglas Sea Temple Resort & Spa are fully air-conditioned and are equipped with an in-room safe.

Room types include Studio Spa Rooms, One Bedroom Apartments, Two Bedroom Apartments, Three Bedroom Apartments, Swim-Out Apartment (located on the ground floor and lead straight out to the pool), Plunge Pool Apartment, Penthouse Apartment and even the large Three-Bedroom Villa.

The resort restaurant is called ALUCO Restaurant and Bar, serving up the restaurant as one of the best in town. Savour the flavours of fresh, locally sourced seafood produce, with an internationally inspired menu. Sip on expertly selected wines whilst taking in the ambience of the flame lit lagoon pool. Breakfast is also served here in the mornings. For something more casual, park your towel on a sun lounge, order a cocktail then settle in for lunch at Pool Bar. Open daily from 11.00am, Pool Bar offers delicious drinks and cocktails, all day snacks and lunch in a relaxed environment.
