Stay and Cruise packages in Patagonia

A new, all-inclusive package will enable luxe travellers to explore Patagonia by both land and sea in March, 2018, including a stay in a spectacular wilderness lodge and a cruise to Cape Horn and glaciers at the ‘bottom of the world’.

Offered by Patagonian cruise line, Australis, the new, all-inclusive, seven-night package enables couples to save up to US$1450 as they head to one of the world’s last great wilderness areas and discover the mountains, lakes, ice fields, forest landscapes and beautiful vistas of the southern tip of South America.

The package includes a four-night Australis cruise onboard Australis’ new ship, Ventus Australis, launching in January, 2018, which will take guests to glaciers, snow-capped mountains, fabled Cape Horn and icy waters that harbour whales, dolphins, penguins, condors and elephant seals. Following in the footsteps of pioneers like Sir Francis Drake and Charles Darwin, the cruise allows guests to discover Patagonia from the comfort of the 210-passenger ship. The cruise is all-inclusive, with a complimentary open bar and daily excursions.

Highlights of the cruise between Punta Arenas and Ushuaia will be a visit ashore, weather permitting, to Cape Horn, dividing the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and also Patagonia’s stunning glaciers and sheer saw-toothed peaks.

Included in the package are three nights’ stay at the Singular Patagonia Hotel, a gateway to the spectacular, world-famous Torres del Paine National Park. The former, century-old cold storage warehouse was transformed into a luxury retreat on the shores of the Fjord of Last Hope Sound near Punta Arenas. Featuring 57 rooms and suites, a full-service spa, a museum and two renowned restaurants, the hotel sits on six hectares of private reserve accessible only to hotel guests. The stay at the Singular Patagonia Hotel is all-inclusive with fine dining, beverages and guided excursions into the wilderness included.

Including the four-night cruise and three-night’s stay – both with meals and beverages included – the seven-night package from March 22, 2018, is priced from US$4126 per person, twin-share (including a 15 per cent saving off the original price, equating to US$729 per person.

Flights to Patagonia from Australia are not included.
