Hotel Review: Wild Dogs Safari Lodge

Wild Dogs Safari Lodge is a small-scale bush lodge with 10 chalets situated in the heart of the Greater Kruger Area.

You can access the lodge by flying into Hoedspruit Airport and taking an hour drive, or if you are up for it, a 5.5 hour drive from Johannesburg. The travel is worth it, as you will arrive in the South African bush where you can really get close to the wildlife.

The owners are welcoming and more than happy to assist in making your time at Wild Dogs Safari Lodge amazing.

The Lodge

The open and inviting main building and entertainment area offer you a dining room (where breakfast and dinner is being served), a comfortable lounge, outside terrace with open fire pit, fully stocked bar and refreshing pool with sunbeds.

All surrounded by a luscious garden for your relaxation during the day. In the evenings you can enjoy a pre- or after dinner drink at our open log fire while being embraced by the starlit African sky.

Rooms

The chalets at Wild Dogs Safari Lodge are individually decorated to give you a true feeling of home away from home. They all have an en-suite bathroom with shower, sink and toilet. In four chalets the bathrooms are outside to add to a true bush feel. Chalets are equipped with comfortable twin or double beds, canvas curtains that block the light and a thatched roof and ceiling fan to keep you cool during the hot summer nights. The coffee and tea station, free Wi-Fi and your private terrace ensure that you can enjoy a leisurely day at your chalet, when you are not out on a wildlife adventure. Chalets are spaced out, allowing privacy without interfering your view into the bush, where various main game (antelopes, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe) stroll by on a regular basis.

Activities

Situated in Guernsey Private Nature Reserve, in the heart of the Greater Kruger Area, and only 40 minutes from Orpen Gate, you can enjoy a wide variety of wildlife and scenic tours and activities from Wild Dogs Safari Lodge. On site or in the surrounding area.
