Luxury meets wellness at The Westin Brisbane, a sophisticated city retreat that manages to feel worlds away from the hustle and bustle of Brisbane’s CBD. Conveniently located on Mary Street, the hotel is within easy walking distance of the Queen Street Mall, the Brisbane River, South Bank and many of the city’s best dining precincts, making it an ideal choice whether you’re visiting for business, a weekend escape or a special occasion.

While its location is undoubtedly a drawcard, it’s the thoughtful service, resort-style facilities and signature Westin touches that transform a stay here into something much more memorable. From the moment I checked in, it was clear that guest comfort and wellbeing sit at the heart of the experience.

The Westin Brisbane strikes an impressive balance between urban convenience and resort-style relaxation. Alongside its signature pool, spa and fitness centre, the hotel offers extensive conference and event facilities, making it equally popular with business travellers and conference delegates.

Concierge services are available to assist with everything from restaurant bookings to local experiences, while valet parking and 24-hour reception ensure a seamless stay from arrival through to departure.

Its central location is another major advantage. Many of Brisbane’s top attractions, including the City Botanic Gardens, Howard Smith Wharves, Queen Street Mall and South Bank, are all within comfortable walking distance, allowing guests to experience the best of the city without needing a car.

Stay

For my stay, I checked into a Westin Club Room, which came with the added benefit of exclusive access to the Westin Club Lounge. The room itself was stylish and spacious, blending warm timber finishes with calming neutral tones to create a relaxing sanctuary above the city.

The renowned Heavenly® Bed certainly lived up to expectations, delivering an exceptionally comfortable night’s sleep thanks to its plush mattress, luxurious linens and cloud-like pillows. Floor-to-ceiling windows flooded the room with natural light, while the generous marble bathroom featured a walk-in rain shower, premium White Tea amenities and fluffy bathrobes that added a welcome touch of indulgence.

The room also included everything expected from a five-star hotel, including a Nespresso coffee machine, spacious work desk, high-speed Wi-Fi and plenty of thoughtful storage, making it equally suitable for a city break or an extended business stay.

Accommodation options range from Deluxe and Premium Guest Rooms through to Executive Suites and the luxurious Presidential Suite. For travellers wanting a little extra, the Club Rooms are well worth considering thanks to the additional privileges they offer.

Eat

Dining at The Westin Brisbane offers something for every occasion, whether you’re looking for a relaxed breakfast, an elegant dinner or a cocktail by the pool. While my Westin Club access meant I enjoyed breakfast and evening canapés in the exclusive Club Lounge, the hotel is home to several standout dining venues that are well worth exploring.

One of the highlights of my stay was the Westin Club Lounge. Reserved exclusively for guests staying in Club Rooms and eligible Marriott Bonvoy members, the lounge provides a peaceful retreat overlooking the city. Each evening, I enjoyed complimentary drinks and a generous selection of hot and cold canapés, with wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks served in a relaxed setting. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day exploring Brisbane. Breakfast in the lounge was equally enjoyable, with a quieter atmosphere than the main restaurant and a selection of fresh pastries, fruit, cereals, hot breakfast dishes and barista-style coffee.

For guests wanting a more elevated dining experience, Batica Dining showcases the very best of Australian produce, celebrating premium ingredients sourced from local farmers, growers and producers. The menu changes with the seasons, highlighting fresh local flavours in a contemporary setting that’s ideal for both breakfast and dinner.

The Charles is much more than a hotel lobby bar. Inspired by Australia’s aviation pioneers, this sophisticated venue seamlessly transitions from artisan coffee in the morning to boutique wines, handcrafted cocktails and an all-day dining menu featuring both share plates and substantial meals. With stylish indoor and outdoor seating, it’s a wonderful spot to meet friends or simply relax with a drink after a day in the city.

If you’re spending the afternoon by the pool, Nautilus Pool Bar is a must. As Brisbane’s only swim-up pool bar, it delivers genuine resort vibes in the middle of the CBD. Guests can enjoy refreshing cocktails, light meals and snacks without leaving the water, making it one of the hotel’s signature experiences. For those preferring to dine in the privacy of their room, 24-hour in-room dining is also available, offering a convenient selection of restaurant-quality meals at any time of day.

Spa & wellness

The Westin’s commitment to wellness is evident throughout the hotel, beginning with its impressive Heavenly Spa by Westin™. Offering a menu of restorative massages, facials and body treatments, it’s the ideal place to recharge after a busy day in the city.

The hotel’s resort-style Nautilus Pool is another standout feature. Surrounded by lush tropical landscaping, private cabanas and a swim-up bar, it’s hard to believe you’re right in the centre of Brisbane. Whether you’re swimming a few laps or simply relaxing poolside with a cocktail, the space delivers genuine holiday vibes.

For guests wanting to stay active, the WestinWORKOUT® Fitness Studio is equipped with state-of-the-art cardio and strength-training equipment, making it easy to maintain your fitness routine while travelling.

Hot tip

If you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoy a few extra luxuries, upgrading to a Westin Club Room is well worth the investment. Between the exclusive lounge access, complimentary evening drinks and canapés, daily breakfast and peaceful atmosphere, it adds another layer of comfort and value to an already exceptional stay.

As part of the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio, The Westin Brisbane allows members to earn and redeem points during their stay while enjoying exclusive member rates and loyalty benefits. Depending on your membership level, additional perks such as room upgrades, bonus points and late checkout may also be available, making it an excellent choice for frequent travellers.
