Intrepid Travel has introduced six new trips to their existing rail range in 2025, allowing customers to experience a slower and more connected mode of travel.
The company has long been a leading competitor in the tourism industry, with a 35-year history and nearly 300,000 customers undertaking adventures in 2024. These newly introduced rail trips are a response to a significant rise in demand for train travel over jet-setting itineraries, and provide increased offerings across Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America.
Exciting new itineraries on offer

The new routes cater to many types of travellers, with beach, jungle, hiking, and many other types of itineraries on offer. Intrepid’s vast selection also allows travellers to tick off epic bucket-list items like African safaris, all while working within their budget constraints. Erika Kritikides, Intrepid Travel’s General Manager of Experiences, praised the move towards train travel as’[providing] ease, convenience and a slower pace’, and considers the expansion to be ‘[one] of [Intrepid’s] most exciting yet.
Highlights of Italy tour
I recently embarked on one of Intrepid’s rail itineraries, the eight-day Highlights of Italy tour, and can attest to the more relaxed nature of their rail travel trips. Despite visiting four cities across the tour, only one day involved a significant commute, allowing for more time to soak up the country and culture. This calm approach to travel is in stark contrast with early wakeup calls and long commutes to airports which plane travel so often necessitates.
Ongoing sustainability efforts
Train travel is also more environmentally friendly than many other forms of transport, in line with Intrepid’s sustainability mission.
