HOTEL REVIEW: Cape Grace Hotel, Cape Town

Location is the key at the Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town. Located on a private quay between Cape Town’s bustling V&A Waterfront and the tranquil yacht marina, the property looks out to the famous Table Mountain and Signal Hill.

From the moment you walk through the door you are greeted with an elegant and warm atmosphere, evident in every fine detail.

The Cape’s colourful past is ever present in the look and feel of the property with exquisite furniture, rare fabrics, intriguing artefacts and original antiques. Local paintings and sculptures lend a contemporary flair to our décor and feel, while fresh displays of Proteas that hint at the wonder of our natural botanical kingdom enrich each room.

While Cape Town is experiencing drought at the moment, the Cape Grace has embraced a sustainable approach to saving water, while not compromising on the experience. The bath tubs have been switched off and guests are asked to try conserve water where possible.

Rooms

The rooms are designed with the charm and wonder of our South African and Cape heritage in mind and draw inspiration from the surrounding marinas. Ship manifests, rare Cape Dutch antiques and local artwork renditions add depth to the contemporary style.

The 120 guest rooms and suites comprise of Luxury and Superior Rooms each with a Table Mountain View option, Rooftop Luxury Rooms, Rooftop Terrace Rooms, One, Two and Three Bedroom Suites and a Penthouse Suite.

Luxury rooms offer warmth and elegant style with personalised details such as an intimate reading area complete with a book and newspaper selection. Luxury rooms feature French doors that reveal views of the V&A Waterfront working harbour directly in front, Table Mountain to the left and Signal Hill to the front.

Dining

Each of the hotel’s culinary expressions take place in exquisite settings that enhance the unique dining experiences. Breakfasts, light lunches, seasonal tasting menus and cocktails all merge in a world of flavour, creativity and Cape Town’s finest views.

The main restaurant, Signal Restaurant, serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and afternoon tea delights. Led by acclaimed Executive Chef, Malika van Reenen, Signal’s innovative menu celebrates the Cape’s rich variety of culture with dishes that pay homage to local flavours and accent European classics. For the whiskey lovers, visit Bascule Bar which also has the best South African wines. Light snacks and drinks are served around the pool.
